Here are a few examples of what some of our client's situations are: 1. A pregnant woman and her husband find themselves homeless and in Flint, after a failed relocation effort out of state. Affordable Living advocates for them and finances their housing for two months, as they find temporary employment , for starters, and successfully locate a home for the parents and their newborn.
2. A disabled, mentally ill man, spinning in a homeless cycle for years, is placed in an apartment, owned by Affordable Living. Rather consistently on his medication, he is still stable in our apartments after 3 years and takes pride in his living space. 3. A developmentally disabled man and new wife, who is in a wheelchair need accessible housing. Affordable Living houses them, stores their items and advocates as they work on becoming first time homebuyers.
